Poem included was written by SSW.
AI was used to create mockups.
The inspiration is a pond with water hyacinth.
It is very beautiful, and the koi fish create a peaceful and calming view.
"POISON"
"Beauty, oh beauty how you deceive
with a mask so charming and a look so naive you draw in your prey until you're ready to feast and then let in the poison you have kept in your seeds." -SSW
To convey the idea that something can be both beautiful and dangerous-like the water hyacinth-I chose a poem to include in my final design.
Using gouache, pencils, and fine~ lining pens, I created an illustration that is easy to understand.
I wanted it to be visually appealing while still
somewhat educational.
This mockup shows how my illustration could appear on a children's book cover.
I believe it successfully conveys my message.
Wrapped around the base of the water hyacinth is a snake-commonly seen as a symbol of danger-which helps, reinforce, the idea that somethrig can be both beautiful and harmful.
In my peace, you could see the star which is a resemblance of the star anise that I wanted to use as a way to connect my art, which is a teapot, to tea, so l used that spice which can be used in tea. That spice is in the shape of a star and it looks similar to the star shaped sand that we were showed. I created a teapot and stars that go inside to be tea infusers.
For this project I used different kinds of stones and river rocks. I also used Styrofoam and construction materials to create this. The goal was to create something that could symbolize the small structures of protein that build us.
